Customer Voice | How Yutong T12E Achieves High-efficiency Operation in Denmark
Yutong T-series battery electric coaches are tailor-made for the high-end tourist passenger transport market and claimed awards at Busworld Belgium in 2023 and 2025 for two consecutive editions. The first Yutong T12E battery electric coach was put into service in Denmark back in 2022. Having run steadily for four years to date, it has clocked up a total mileage of over 240,000 kilometers. As the first customer of Yutong T-series battery electric models, Danish company Vikingbus shares its practical operation feedback on this vehicle.
Premium Quality of T12E Wins Fleet Recognition
Superior overall quality was the core reason why Vikingbus chose the Yutong T12E. Talking about their cooperation and vehicle experience, the Head of Workshop of Vikingbus commented:“We felt refreshed when we first started using the T-series. It stands out from other coaches and is truly a top-quality vehicle.”He also spoke highly of Yutong’s product quality:“Yutong’s vehicle craftsmanship is one of our most admired highlights, and all drivers can quickly get the hang of it.The large central control screen is extremely easy to operate; even children can master it with ease.”

For Vikingbus, apart from reliable performance, driving experience is also a top priority during daily operations. A veteran driver with seven years of driving experience, who has been behind the wheel of the T12E for three years, said:“This coach feels just like my own car. I really appreciate the rear-view camera, which delivers a full panoramic view of the vehicle. I’m also fully satisfied with the auxiliary braking system, a great safety feature.”

Versatile Use, Activate Operational Potential
Backed by solid product performance, the T Series is perfectly adapted to the Danish market with a mixed operation solution. Centered on school bus services, the vehicle also undertakes tourist charter and cruise shuttle tasks. The multi-purpose design makes full use of the vehicle around the clock and greatly boosts operational efficiency.

Danish schools have clear regulations that zero-emission vehicles must be used for student study tours, making battery electric coaches the top choice for school bus services. The T Series runs school bus routes in the morning and evening. Each one-way trip covers around 50 kilometers, and the coach can carry nearly 50 students per journey. A school teacher shared:“The vehicle runs with very low noise. Its air conditioning works consistently well. The on-board microphone allows drivers to chat and sing with students, and the kids always enjoy the ride.”

Once the school bus routes are finished, the T Series is immediately deployed for tourist charter and cruise shuttle services.“We used to worry about long charging hours,” explained Vikingbus’ Head of Workshop. “But tourist trips naturally include rest stops for passengers, which are perfect opportunities for fast charging. This operation model works exceptionally well.”Compared with traditional diesel coaches, the battery electric model delivers a quieter and more comfortable ride while championing green travel, winning wide praise from tourists.

Vikingbus now operates a fleet of 15 Yutong battery electric coaches ranging from 12 to 15 meters in length. As the new energy sector develops rapidly across Northern Europe, Yutong will keep upgrading its high-end battery electric vehicle technologies, and work together with Vikingbus to explore greener and more efficient operation models.
